Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the tissue band along the sole of the foot, causing heel pain especially with first steps; physiotherapy helps relieve pain and improve foot mechanics.

Common Symptoms

Do's

  • Wear supportive, cushioned footwear at all times
  • Stretch calf and foot muscles gently within comfort
  • Use a soft mat when standing on hard floors
  • Maintain a healthy body weight to reduce foot strain

Don'ts

  • Don't walk barefoot on hard surfaces
  • Avoid worn-out or unsupportive footwear
  • Don't ignore persistent heel pain hoping it resolves alone
  • Avoid sudden increases in walking or running distance

When to see a physiotherapist: Consult a physiotherapist if heel pain persists beyond two to three weeks despite rest and supportive footwear.
