A hamstring strain is a tear or overstretch of the muscles at the back of the thigh, common in sports involving sprinting or sudden movements. Physiotherapy helps the muscle heal properly and regain strength to prevent re-injury.
When to see a physiotherapist: Consult a doctor if you cannot bear weight or hear a pop at the time of injury, and see a physiotherapist to guide a safe return to activity.
