Patient Resources
Most children take their first independent steps between twelve and eighteen months, but every child develops at their own pace. Physiotherapy can help identify the cause of a delay and build the strength and coordination needed to walk confidently.
When to see a physiotherapist: See a pediatrician or physiotherapist if your child isn't walking by eighteen months, or shows unusual stiffness, floppiness, or asymmetry in movement.
