Patient Resources
Spasticity is abnormal muscle tightness or stiffness caused by nerve damage, often seen after stroke, spinal cord injury, or other neurological conditions. Physiotherapy helps reduce stiffness, improve flexibility, and maintain movement and comfort.
When to see a physiotherapist: Consult your doctor if spasticity suddenly worsens or causes significant pain, and work with a physiotherapist to manage stiffness and preserve movement.
