Ergonomic Workstation Setup

Sitting for long hours at a poorly set-up desk puts strain on your neck, shoulders, and lower back. Physiotherapy guidance on chair height, screen position, and posture habits can prevent chronic pain before it starts.

Common Symptoms

Do's

  • Keep your screen at eye level to avoid neck strain
  • Sit with feet flat on the floor and knees at hip height
  • Take a short standing or stretching break every 30-45 minutes
  • Use a chair that supports the natural curve of your lower back

Don'ts

  • Don't slouch or lean forward toward the screen
  • Don't rest wrists on a hard edge while typing
  • Don't sit in the same position for hours without moving
  • Don't ignore small aches thinking they will go away on their own

When to see a physiotherapist: If neck, back, or wrist pain persists beyond a couple of weeks or starts limiting your daily work, consult a physiotherapist for a proper posture and workstation assessment.
